Anne Docherty, CEO

5 years ago, I signed up to a Stand Up Comedy Course.  Why, because I wanted to push myself out my comfort zone and Stand Up comedy was the scariest thing I could think of doing.

I survived it, got through the first 5 minutes on stage in a comedy club,  I am sure I was dreadful but it didn't really matter, I did it and I was proud of myself.

What I didn't expect to discover was the huge amount of tools and techniques comedians can use to help them get their audience to laugh.  If only I'd known about them earlier, I'm sure I would have been way more successful at work.

Whether you work for a huge company or have your own business, these skills are useful for anyone who wants to communicate, connect with others or just be a happier version of themselves.

Mark Hinds, Head of Comedy

I have had 2 of the greatest jobs in the world. Firstly I was a trader for ten years on the LIFFE market, I was one of those guys in a silly coloured jacket shouting and screaming, buying and selling.

I then became a Licensed London Taxi Driver, yes, I have The Knowledge !

Now I have the ultimate job, following my passion and  having a lot of fun at the same time. From the first time of trying my hand at stand up comedy, I fell in love with it and everything around it. Following my passion has lead me to here.

I love the process of getting people on all our workshops to find their voice, their creativity and most importantly their confidence.

Elliot Powell, Resident MC and Trainer

Hi there! I'm Ell, a comedian who's been making audiences laugh for 5 years as the resident MC for Comedy at Work. I'm a story-telling observational comedian who finds humor in everyday moments and turns them into something funny.

I've travelled across the UK, been a hit on TikTok, had my own podcast, and even review the news on BBC CWR. I'm always looking for new ways to bring laughter into people's lives, and I can't wait to share more laughs with you.

Josh Pugh of Mock the Week says I'm "proper funny, charming, and  he's never seen me have a bad gig." So come on, let's have some laughs together!
