Who we are
Comedy At Work Ltd provides comedians and comedy based services for events, workplaces, charities and schools. We are based in Warwickshire and work across the UK and overseas.
Comedy At Work Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 12091937. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and when
We only collect personal information when you choose to send it to us. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.
When you fill in an enquiry form on this site, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it, which is optional
- Which service you are asking about
- Whatever you write in the message box
If you email or call us directly, we hold whatever you send us in that message.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use it to reply to you, to quote for your event and to arrange the work if you go ahead. That is the only reason.
Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not send newsletters, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is handled by a small number of trusted suppliers who process it on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts this website and runs the form. Their servers keep short term technical logs, which can include your IP address.
- Cloudflare Turnstile runs the anti spam check on the form. To do that, your IP address is sent to Cloudflare. This is what stops the form being abused by bots.
- Resend delivers the two emails the form sends, one to us and a confirmation to you.
- Microsoft 365 hosts our email, so your enquiry arrives and is stored in our mailboxes.
Some of these suppliers are based outside the UK, so your information may be transferred abroad. Where that happens it is protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
We will also share information where the law requires it, and no further.
Where it is kept
This website has no customer database. Your enquiry is not stored in the site itself. It exists as an email in our inboxes, and that is all.
How long we keep it
If you book us, we keep your enquiry and the related correspondence for six years after the end of the work, which is the period we need for tax and accounting records.
If you do not book us, we delete the enquiry within two years, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own, and we do not use Google Analytics or any other tracking or advertising software. That is why you have not been asked to accept a cookie banner.
The only third party code on the site is the Cloudflare Turnstile anti spam widget on our forms, described above.
The video testimonials on this site are hosted by us directly rather than embedded from YouTube or Vimeo. We did that deliberately, so that watching one does not hand your details to a third party.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Provide it in a portable format
Email anne.docherty@comedyatwork.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Children
We run comedy workshops for young people, but those are always arranged through a school, youth group or a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18 through this website.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
