Is Public Speaking really as Scary as meeting a Serial Killer?

You are stepping on stage to speak.

Everyone is looking at you.

How do you feel?

Are you so nervous you want to run away OR do you feel relaxed and happy to be there?

Most of us think of public speaking as scary and it’s hard to say why?

Is it really as scary as hearing bad news from the doctor or meeting a serial killer (down a dark alley)?

Because it doesn’t have to be.

It is just a conversation. With you doing most of the talking. Wow, I think that’s exciting. If you knew my friends, it’s a rare chance for me to have my turn to speak!

If you’ve ever been in a job where the boss takes your great idea and goes with his own idea anyway.

Or

You have a family member who knows very little about you, because they never ask

Public speaking is a chance for you to communicate with the world your unique take on things. A chance to be heard.

Could it be that getting your chance to speak is something to get excited about, something to look forward to, something to seek more of ….

Once you get the speaking bug, you might just be unstoppable.
